Children play in the village of Mukedi, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as seed pods fall from nearby trees. MCC provides medicines and supplies to a Mennonite hospital in the village.
A sewing project in Bolivia is allowing Maria to learn new skills and build friendships with other women in the project. Because of the income she now receives from what she sews, she no longer has to sell food all day long in the plaza to support her family.
MCC supports an education center for children in one of the poorer neighborhoods of Kabul, Afghanistan.  Many of the children come from families whose parents can't afford to send them to school, or who have never had the chance to attend school.  Some of the children are also handicapped or have learning disabilities.

Zirak Nawzat looks up at his uncle Masoud Mahmad in their home in the sub-district of Debaga in northern Iraq. The family received a relief kit and blankets as part of a material aid distribution through REACH, an MCC partner organization.
In Mehal Meda, a town in northern Ethiopia, MCC supports the work of Meserete Kristos Church Relief and Development Association (MKC-RDA) doing peace and reconciliation work among families who were involved in conflict and revenge killings. They support peace trainings and the formation of peace committees in different villages there.
Bibjana Orozovic, 26, talks about her experience in the peace camp and how it changed her view of Muslims.  She is from the city of Novi Grad, Bosnia. The peace camps are coordinated by The Center for Peacebuilding in Sanski Most, which is supported by MCC.
In the village of Angkeahrdei, Cambodia, MCC supports The Angkearhdei Primary School through the Global Family Education Sponsorship Program.  MCC funds help provide books, teaching materials, and a daily breakfast program.
In Wadi Rayan, Jordan, MCC supports women in income generation projects through the Wadi Rayan Women's Benevolent Society. Ratiba Abdula holds a handful of thyme that she grows in her yard. She started the project with a loan from the Wadi Rayan Women's Benevolent Society.
Pigeons take flight in a plaza in Old City Damascus, Syria. Third-century Roman arches reveal one of the many different eras in the history of Syria's capital. In Syria, MCC works with the Syrian Orthodox church to support education in orphanages and has programs and workshops for people with mental handicaps.

The cityscape of Old City Jerusalem lights up at night. MCC's work in the region includes supporting Palestinian and Israeli peace-building initiatives.
Soufiana Elistin takes care of her small forest in Desarmes, Haiti. She is involved in reforestation projects coordinated by MCC. Haiti has been devastated by deforestation as people continue to cut down trees to sell for charcoal. MCC works to replant trees through tree nurseries and small forest projects with the local people.
In the village of Kafr El Nasara, MCC supports literacy education through partner organization BLESS. Hanan Abanoub, a student in the literacy classes, reads her Bible in her home with her children Abu Noub Sabour, 13, Girgis Sabour, 8, and Niveen Sabour, 7.
A Palestinian refugee plays soccer in a lot just outside of Beirut, Lebanon. MCC supports education programs that work with Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
